March 30, 2008

So, I had a frustrating morning and it involved my demanding father, but it wasn’t as big of a deal I made it out to be. But, I just want to thank my cousins for everything, for actually taking the time out of their day to help me grab tickets online (because they’re Mr. & Mrs. Google) and opening their home to us. I love being there because there’s never any pressure (except when Riley is excitedly jumping on my bladder), just an endless list of recorded television shows/movies. Just wanted to remind you both that me and Pauline love you (and Riley of course).

Today Franco bought me a Build-A-Bear equipped with his voice recorded into it. So now when I press Franco Jr.’s paw it blurts out, “I LOVE YOU!” (in Franco’s voice). I admit I got a little upset when he told me he wasn’t able to buy it right then, but only because I’ve been wanting one for 2 years already. It was time for us to conceive :] Thank you for Franco Jr. babe. I love you.

bored
March 28, 2008

I’m working at Cerritos again and I’d like to share with everyone that I am bored out of my mind. I’ve fixed everything possible in the showcases. Thank god I only have 15 more minutes until i’m off work. I finally get to see Franco today after not seeing him for 2 long weeks! We’ll be sleeping over at my cousin’s house again this weekend. Yay!

I finally taught Pudge how to rollover and it only took an hour. Half hour this morning and another half when I came home from school. Funny how I never realized that it would be this easy to hardwire a new trick into this dog’s brain who could possibly have A.D.D. Even when I give him a totally different command, he’ll skip right to rolling over. Haha! What an over achiever.

I know you’re probably thinking, “Why does Vicky post so many pictures of her dog?” Well, guess what? I’ve seen a lot worse in pet owners. They have albums and albums that contain pictures of their dogs or cats. So quite frankly, I’m not as obsessed as they are.

team Jonas!
March 27, 2008

Is it just me or are everyone’s allergies worse this year than any other year we’ve ever lived? This spring season is getting ridiculously hyperallergenic to me and I haven’t stopped sneezing since last week. I envy people who aren’t sensitive to dust and pollen.

Anyway, Jonas Brothers tickets go on sale on this Saturday! For some odd reason they postponed the ticket sales for Irvine along with 4 or 5 other cities. Speaking of Jonas Brothers, I recorded the Jimmy Kimmel show when they performed and it was a shorter interview than I imagined it would be. I guess I can’t have my cake and eat it too. Speaking of cake…

i’m being mean

I don’t understand those people who feel the need to show off every piece of accessory or “brand name” item that they own in most of their pictures. It looks like they’re trying to give people the idea that they’re capable of purchasing expensive brand name clothing/accessories in spite of their whining and moping about “money problems” that they’re currently struggling with. It makes them seem, dare I say it, stupid and irresponsible. Hah! But who am I to judge others and their retail therapy habits? Maybe it’s just that they don’t got much going for them and showing the world their newest Dior bracelet or Balenciaga purse on the web makes them think others will be forever envious. Feel free to brag about your last season Chanel, but who’s got the upper hand in life itself?

Sorry for emitting so much negativity tonight. I’ll be back tomorrow with a nicer streak and an adjusted attitude :] Goodnight friends.

life (plaza, that is)
March 26, 2008

Anne finally came down from Berkeley a few days ago so we decided to go out for lunch today. I treated her to Shabu Shabu at Life Plaza because 1. I’ve been having extra cravings for thinly sliced meat dipped in ponzu sauce and 2. She has never tried it before. Hopefully she liked it and didn’t lie to me. I don’t understand the ability of her metabolism, she can consume large amounts of food in one sitting and not gain weight from it. I despise people who has that ability (i.e. my sister and Vanna). But nonetheless, I always enjoy the time I spend with Anne and talking to her helped me relieve my stress. I guess it’s easy to be extremely open with her and Priscilla because they’re the only friends I have that I trust one hundred percent. I appreciate having them around because I don’t have much friends to share my feelings with most of the time. Usually it’s just me and Franco and you know how boyfriends can be. You can tell a guy about 20 things and he most likely won’t process any information that you expected them to remember (which is excatly what happened today with me and my “attentive” boyfriend). Thank god for my girls.

Class was pretty interesting today too. We learned how to administer vaccines into stuffed animals (puppies). It was a little hard imagining it to be a live pet because there is a hundred times more pressure when you actually have a real squirming dog trying to get out of your grip while you stick a needle in them. Hopefully the doctor will allow me to at least administer the rabies vaccine next Monday, that one looks fairly easy.

And here is a result of frequent visits to Life Plaza: Cue pictures and Boba!

tired, but…
March 25, 2008

I went into my externship and came home with good news today! The doctor has officially offered me a job to work at the animal hospital part-time (aside from my externship). I was very happy to be able to take this opportunity because I can definitely use some extra practice with everything around the hospital. I’m still considered a newbie but I know I’m soaking in at least a hundred new things each day I’m there. It feels good to be a needed asset for the hospital and being able to assist the doctor in so many ways. All in a day’s work; but now, I think I’ll go lay down and relax.

Easter Sunday
March 24, 2008

Happy Easter everyone! Too bad I don’t celebrate it, I don’t think hunting for eggs in the sweltering heat is exactly my idea of fun. Nonetheless, It’s a great excuse for a day off.

I swear there must be something living in my pillows that are irritating my eyes. It was confirmed when I slept at my cousin’s house and woke up allergy free. I think the dust particles are having a party in my pillow and my eyeballs/nostrils are the main attraction. So as a result, my mother forced me to freshen up my pillows in the dryer. Poop. So today I spent my Easter Sunday with my parents and sister at the AMC theatres in Puente Hills Mall. We decided a few days ago that we would definitely watch “Shutter” only because the storyline is taken from the Thai version of that movie. Unfortunately, the American producers didn’t do as good of a job on this movie as “our” people did. Hah! I’m just a hater. Well, I guess I should get back to sanitizing the ungodly mess in my room. See you.

I guess I went on an unexpected food binge last night. If the artichoke & jalapeƱo hummus wasn’t so delicious I wouldn’t have overdone it with the fried pita bread. So I guess it was partially my cousin’s cousin’s fault for providing me with those in the first place! Heh. Today my cousins and sister (and of course, me) made our rounds at Corner Bakery for the second time at Victoria Gardens (the food there is great by the way). We stopped at Petsmart on the way home to buy some grooming clippers for Pudge because he’s starting to look like a mini woolly mammoth with his hair covering his vision. I attempted to shorten his fur with the clippers but I’m still uncomfortable with the fact that I might become responsible for my dog’s uneven patches (in case I screw up the job). So I guess I could use some practice on the clippers with the class pets before I turn my dog into a hairless breed. If only Pudge would stop fighting with the neighbor’s dogs so that he wouldn’t break his nail on the fence again :[

shake
March 21, 2008

Once again I’m working a wonderful place called Cerritos Mall. I still can’t figure out why customers violently shake their hands in hopes that the ring they try on won’t fall off. I mean, I’m sure as hell they won’t be doing that the whole time the ring is snug on their fingers. People are so weird.
