Arts & Crafts
January 30, 2009

Today was my first time trying to make a friendship bracelet out of embroidery floss. My sister forced me to learn it because she knew I like doing stuff pertaining to braiding, knotting, hemps, and whatnot. It was a little confusing at first but after the third attempt, I finally got it down.

My second attempt was a little messy.

The third attempt, yay!

I’ve also been putting off Riley’s scrapbook mostly because I wanted more pictures of him as he gets older. I’ll be starting it up again tomorrow while I stay at my dad’s work again. My original finish date should have been on his 1st birthday but I obviously hadn’t gotten around to it. At least I have more choices for more picture prints of him at Walmart that I will soon be ordering.

Yes, that is how far I got. Pathetic, I know. Once it’s finished I’ll take more pictures (don’t expect them too soon).

I found old webcam pictures of Pudge on a computer at my dad’s work. My little baby boy had floppy ears! Now I remember why I fell in love with him the moment I saw him.

“junior” release

I just read Hayley’s blog. She mentioned that once they move into their rehearsal space/writing room they’re going to finish writing and pre-produce their third album. I can’t wait for their “next big thing.” Hopefully, it comes out in time for the brilliant ND/Paramore concert (I am fully aware that there will be other bands opening but I don’t count them, heh).

Chinese New Years
January 28, 2009

Gung Hay Fat Choy everyone! I bet you didn’t know I was half Chinese (well 75% Chinese but whose counting?). Honestly, I take more pride in being part Thai because my family was raised in Thailand, we speak Thai, and eat Thai food every single day. Instead of celebrating Chinese New Years at my house (the way we usually do every year) we had it at my Auntie’s house in Brea. You can bet that I definitely went off track from my diet and it completely threw off my entire week. I still got in four days of work outs so I’m not too bummed about it. Nevertheless, I enjoy Chinese New Year, the way I do every year, because it means lots of food, family, and lucky money!

Today Franco left for Tucson, Arizona for another jewelry show. I know, another one? Ugh. He’ll be back in less than two weeks and I have no idea what I’ll do on the weekends without him. I ended up offering Ricky to take whatever Saturday shift he needs off for the next two weeks but he ended up being a little hesitant on giving it up. My dad is also leaving for another Jewelry Show in Arizona and the bad news is that he has to take the van I’ve been using. So guess what I have to drive for the next two weeks :] Hehe (If you know me well enough, you’d know).

Here are some pictures that my cousin Desi took with his drool-worthy Canon. I’m still contemplating on whether I should use all my lucky money on buying the same one. Augh! I wish I had more money…

Freida Pinto is the hottest Indian girl in the world. After watching Slumdog Millionare, I made her my official new “girl” crush.

January 23, 2009

Since my house is currently under some major construction, we can’t have Chinese New Years here anymore. Instead, we’re having it at my Aunt’s house in Brea. After Pauline passed her permit test this morning (Yes, she passed! She only missed two answers!) I drove over to help my cousin clean the house in preparation for Sunday. I didn’t do much cleaning, but I did contributed to hauling a mountain of toys into a room. Riley now has a new playroom! When we picked him up from daycare and led him into his new room he absolutely loved it! While “cleaning,” I also saw a mountain of purses that belonged to my cousin, it’s unbelievable. I didn’t think she realized how much Gwen products she owned until I took a picture of it (and that picture doesn’t even cover all of it, it’s insane!).

January 22, 2009

My allergies have been acting up ever since they put those giant fans that are drying the walls, I guess it’s stirring up all the dust in the house. The good news is that they’re taking out more than half the fans today so my family is now able to hear each other’s conversations in the normal tone of voice. As usual I went to gym, got in my 45 minutes of cardio, stopped at Sally’s for hair dye, then headed to Target to buy diet sodas. I should’ve figured they would be out of Diet Sunkist, augh!  That darn drink always seems to sell out quick! I also found these flavor blasted goldfish my sister made me try, they’re really good. I have to limit myself to a few pieces a day though since I’m on this strict diet :[

My cousin just sent me an email announcing that NO DOUBT’S 2009 tour will include guests PARAMORE and THE SOUNDS. Shit son! I can’t wait!

what’s going on
January 20, 2009

Some things that have been going on this week:

1. I’ve started back on my Jenny Craig diet again. I remember I weighed about 160 lbs. in high school, signed up for Jenny Craig, and lost over 40 lbs in about 6 months. Lately, I’ve been feeling a little down about my body image (I know it might sound vain and shallow), but I keep having flashbacks of what I use to look like junior year and it haunts me. Just once, I want to feel better about myself and not try to hide my body in different ways. Wish me lots of luck.

2. In addition to the JC diet, I’ve been to the gym about 5 times this week. I can’t emphasize enough about how much more energetic and productive I feel. They say it takes about two weeks to start a habit but I think I’ve already made working out as a part of my everyday routine. Note to self: Find a workout buddy who doesn’t tend to become lazy after 5 minutes of being on an elliptical (Pauline, grr.).

3. As for my house: Good news! The construction analyst came by to check out the extensive damages of our house two days ago. They told my parents that it would be totally fine for me and Pauline to sleep in our rooms because that half broken pillar is not what holds up the house. I still haven’t moved my computer back up so I’ll probably end up doing that tonight.

4. Yesterday, my car has been taken away to be fixed but I’m not completely sure if we’re going to end up keeping it. Honestly, I would love to have my car back, but my dad thinks we shouldn’t so I’m a little disappointed. Maybe I can convince him to sell the van instead (since it’s older) and keep my baby.

5.  I brought home Pudge’s DHPPC and Bordatella vaccines to give to him last night. I figured if i took him to the vet he’ll just be a nervous wreck and cry the whole time so I spared his fear and my energy, brought home the vaccines, and shot him in the shoulder while my mom held him. He didn’t feel the first one but he yelped at the second poke, what a baby.

6. Today is a historic day! Welcome Obama!

mushy walls
January 16, 2009

Hey everyone. My house is currently being raided by a cleaning crew because the carpeting in the guestroom was flooded. They’re sucking out water from under the wooden floors and walls (the walls are mushy, gross). I ended up sleeping in my cousin’s room with my sister last night and I had the greatest sleep. As most of you know, my sister’s permit test was scheduled for this morning at 10. Sadly, she ended up not being able to take it because she didn’t know that she needed proof of enrollment in drivers’ training. When we left the DMV, she was so frustrated that she actually screamed her heart out in the car, lol!

I don’t how how long the house repairs are going to take but I’m hoping it doesn’t take more than a month. In the meantime I’ll be using my Grandpa’s van for transportation. The last thing I need to worry about is my car, I just really want my part of the house to be stable again. (sigh)

I feel bad for my parents.
