I would say that my Christmas Shopping is officially done, but I can’t. Sadly, my lack of money has sidetracked me from buying a Christmas Gift for one more little person. I have a few days left to spare so I’ll try to figure something out.

Porter Ranch is where me and my family will be spending Christmas Day. When my family gathers, that often means an unlimited supply of Thai food, Wii sessions, and babies! The drive there is horribly long but at least traffic won’t be a problem that day.  I can’t wait to give my aunt her gift, a Tokidoki fanny pack she’s been wanting and, in addition, a $150 Nordstrom gift card she can use to her heart’s content. Despite her high expectations, It didn’t take very long to figure out what to buy her and where to buy it. We should do Secret Santa every year because it’s much less stressful.

On to some bad but unimportant news. This Christmas, Disneyland is most likely a no-go. As much as I’d love to see it snow bubbles every year, me and Franco just don’t have the time and money. We’ll probably have to wait until next year which, hopefully, will make it more exciting for us to be there. At least I have Vegas to look forward to, although I have no idea when! That doesn’t matter, I’m not in a hurry for anything that may involve spending even more money.

See you later dudes.

Christmas Party
December 19, 2008

My dad’s company Christmas Party was held at the Universal Hilton Hotel last night at a buffet. The fact that this place costs about $50 a person makes everyone want to go try the food. I’ve been to this buffet before and personally, I prefer Vegas buffets over it. I didn’t eat much because I couldn’t help worrying about Riley’s fever, he’s been getting sick frequently lately. Poor baby. I was just too distracted to eat, that was weird.

The Secret Santa gift exchange was extra fun this year, our table was so loud that management was starting to stare after a few minutes. Whatever, for $50 we should be able to cheer as loud as we want. My cousin Tammy had actually picked my name for the gift exchange, it was so unexpected! I got a Tokidoki purse from her that I’ve been wanting for a long time and I loved it. The person I picked was one of my dad’s most obnoxious employees; I bought him two t-shirts from Express and two books about Obama (it was on his wishlist). Heh. Before we all went home last night, my family finally had a drawing for our Secret Santa and I got one of the hardest people to shop for. Augh! So today I’m dedicating most of my time to finding a gift for her. The spending limit is around $200-$300, but my cousin tells me she doesn’t seem to like anything that falls less than $500. Poor Me.

After calling a couple of places yesterday that carried the invisible shield, I tried Brea just for the fun of it. It turns out the place just received a shipment so the G1 full body coverage was available after all. The installation guy did a mediocre job with the application but I probably couldn’t have done it better myself anyway. $40 isn’t bad considering it’s a lifetime warranty (minus the $5 installation fee each time you want it replaced). You’re required to leave your phone off for 24 hours (the amount of time it takes for it to dry effectively) but I turned it on a couple of times, heh. Overall the shield makes my phone look glossy and the fit is great, I have no further complaints!

All I want for Christmas is this Dell Inspiron Mini 12″ White Laptop for $599. That’s it, haha!

December 5, 2008

Good Morning readers! Today is my day off (I’ve been getting these lately) and I have no clue what my plans are. I do know that I definitely need to take Pudge to the vet for a nail trim because he won’t let me cut them. It’s my mistake for not doing it too often when he was a puppy so I deserve it, heh. Taking a trip to the car wash would also be on my to do list but I’m kind of on the fence about spending money on it. Don’t worry I’m not a cheapskate, it’s near the holidays so I’m trying to save some money for gifts. I hate saving.

On Wednesday I drove to Brea (might I add very eagerly) with my sister to get my Invisible Shield installed on my G1. Guess what? They completely ran out. I called the Invisible Shield cart at Santa Anita yesterday and guess what? They also completely sold out. Shipments won’t be in until next weekend and I don’t think I can wait. I’m not a patient person so I’m going to try to find a place later today that hasn’t run dry yet. Oh look, I have plans now.

See you later.

I’m sorry. Vicky’s Trails will be on hiatus until the blogger decides to look up from her new G1. Heh.

No, really. I’ll be back to blogging in a few days. See you!

November 25, 2008

I can’t wait until I get my brand spankin’ new phone, it’s all I’ve been thinking about for the past few days. Well, scratch that. I’ve also been trying to find a way to see Twilight again sometime this week. I just need a partner to go with (that won’t drool over the sight of Bella. Ahem, babe.) I also haven’t taken advantage of my new privilege of being 21 years old. That means finally ordering my first alcoholic drink, and honestly, I’m pretty excited. I don’t consider turning 21 a big milestone in my life, it’s just a few more things I can legally enjoy. It’s pretty simple.

Today surgeries mostly consisted of tumor removals and neuters, nothing out of the ordinary. Tomorrow I have work for four hours and I have absolutely no plans after that. Maybe I’ll pay a visit to Downtown, LA.

Happy 21st

…to me! I can’t believe I’m already 21 years old, I don’t feel like I’m at that age yet. I still have so much growing up to do (mentally that is). You probably already think I’m planning to go out and get drunk until the wee hours of the night, but if you do know me, you know I wouldn’t. Not right away at least, heh. Korean BBQ with my family sounds more appealing, I just want everyone to be together for my birthday (and food is all I ask for). For my birthday I recieved a couple hundred bucks from my family which will most likely be saved for Christmas gifts anyway, yay! Franco bought me the white version of the G1 that I have been longing for since the first time I’ve seen it and I can’t wait for that! I’ll be back to blog some more later, I need to get my grub on.

October 12, 2008

I’ve officially become a victim of the leather trend this month. Although all three of us were arguing the entire time about boots, shopping at Montebello with my sister and my mom today was actually fun. Franco has been looking for a good flannel for a while now and I finally found a good one for him at Boarders. It was pretty expensive but he’ll eventually find a way to thank me for it, or i’ll just force it out of him. Haha!

Unfortunately, my cousins are having a bit of a personal crisis so it’s nothing for me to blog about. I just want to let them know that I’ll always try to help them out as much as I can to make their life a little easier and run a little smoother. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for them because they’ve always treated me as if I were their child (as odd as that sounds, it’s completely and utterly true). I already know everything is going to be fine and we’ll all eventually get use to the change. Just remember I’m always on call for you guys, my priority line. Love you.

Well, I thought I’d share with you some stuff that I bought today because I obviously have no other interesting pictures to post. Just try to enjoy it, okay?!

October 4, 2008

For a while now my dad has been offering to buy me a GPS for my car and I haven’t really considered it to be completely necessary because I’m pretty good at finding my own way around no matter where I go. As surprising as this may seem, I’m actually good at remembering and guessing driving directions. This morning I walked into his bedroom to show him my PVAS acceptance letter and he was pretty pleased. After that he handed me a Garmin Nuvi 255w box. “For me?” I asked excitedly. “Well, it’s for Miami so we won’t get lost at the jewelry show but you can use it if you want to,” was my dad’s sarcastic answer. This was a very unexpected and early birthday present but I know my parents are just looking out for me, thanks Mommy & Daddy.

So last night I was driving home on the 60 and a huge peice of rubber from a torn tire came flying at my car. It was pretty gnarly when I had to run right over it but I had no idea it did some damage to my bumper until today. The tire marks stained my bumper and also slightly damaged it but don’t worry, it’s nothing too bad. I’m just glad there was no accident and swerving involved.
