gloom = happy
December 6, 2009

Wow, is it almost Christmas again? Is it just me or is each year passing by more quickly than it use to when I was younger? Either way, I take it as a bad thing. However, the good thing is the weather is now what it was suppose to be 3 months ago. Cold and gloomy! The gray, orange, red, yellow color setting in my neighborhood is beautiful. I think I should take my SLR to shoot in this ‘Twilight’ weather.

This year, I have two Secret Santas to shop for (plus Riley and my Grandparents). One from work and one from the family, both of which shouldn’t be too hard. One down, four to go! Let’s see how far I get with Christmas shopping today.

Off topic, but nonetheless good news. My mom decided to give me a belated birthday present this week; $200 to spend on a wallet. I went on to look for L.A.M.B. wallets and it was an epic fail. It took a few hours until I arrived at ‘Checkout’ button…for a brand new purse. Most of the L.A.M.B. purses were on sale. Why do you do this to me Zappos? Why?! Zappos also gave me an early Christmas present, a free VIP membership. 1-day shipping for absolutely zero dollars (plus zero tax), wow. All the more reason to go ahead and enter my credit card information as quick as possible. As I type this 2nd to last sentence of my blog, this song comes to mind. “I’m just a girl in the world. That’s all that you’ll let me be!” -No Doubt

Ahh, spring. If I could eliminate one thing from my life it would have to be allergies. Definitely allergies. I’m so sick of sneezing, scratching my eyes, and blowing my nose. Since my entire family has severe allergy problems, my dad suggested that we go get allergy shots every week for a year (or two). I use to get weekly allergy shots a few years ago, but my parents stopped taking me out of laziness (I think). Ugh, I HATE MY ALLERGIES!

Well, today is Sunday and this Sunday means car-shopping day!!!

Why is it whenever I’m completely broke I tend to have a “want” impulse yet, when I do have money I can’t seem to make up my mind about what to buy. After my indecisiveness in what I wanted as a gift for Valentine’s Day, Franco decided to take me on a $300 shopping spree. Holy moly!  Unfortunately my attempt of trying to find something turned out to be nearly impossible :[  A thousand stores later I finally made up my mind on what I wanted. It was a unisex circle scarf from American Apparel. rsa2502_altIt “claims” that you can wear it thirteen different ways but keeping it a regular scarf seems to look better. So, shopping at Old Town Pasadena today wasn’t a total bust;  the weather was nice (well, extremely cold but at least it was sunny) and I finally got to spend time with Franco after missing him for two long weeks. We stopped at Target on the way home to buy some gift wrap for my mom and I ended up spending $45 of my Valentine money on my sister. Her god forsaken straightener has been begging to be replaced and since I hadn’t thought of buying her a birthday gift yet, I gave in to a new straightener. “Ahhhh!!! There’s a caaar!!!” Good job on the driving Lin, you do great at 15 miles an hour, hehe.

Good news! Franco finally found some pretty good Laker tickets to buy (it was my gift to him for Valentine’s Day) so we’ll be going on Friday. Keep in mind that this will be my first time ever going to a live sporting event; the things I do for the guy I love.

Well, tomorrow I’ll be driving down to Porter Ranch for my dad’s cousin’s daughter’s birthday party (haha! that was a long thread), she’s turning 2 years old.

New Year shoes
January 1, 2009

I spent my New Years shopping at Ontario with my parents and fell in love with a pair of shoes I found today. They’re a little trendy for my taste, but I really like them. I know, you’re sick of reading another blog about my shopping escapades. I’ll blog about more important things later.

I have a massive headache, I think I may be getting sick. This is bad news because me and my family are going to Disneyland tomorrow. Tylenol time.

There is no work for me today and that means no Mrs. E! That also means I have some extra time to go shopping for my two Secret Santas. I would drive to a better mall, such as Santa Anita, but my sister is in school and I don’t like the thought of going alone. Attempting to find parking at Brea will be such a burn so I guess it’s time for me to get up and shower. It’s too cold to shower!

better now
November 1, 2008

Hey everyone. The rain added a nice dramatic twist to our usual hot weather today, don’t you think? The good news is that I’m feeling 100% better from yesterday. Yesterday I ran up a pretty random fever and contracted an odd sickness that didn’t last very long. I’m a little disappointed because I didn’t get to take Riley trick-or-treating for the second year, I’m pretty bummed out about that. This morning, I vegetated in bed for a few hours until my mom called at 2′ o’clock to pick her up from a nearby hair salon and my relaxation ended there. Me and my sister stopped at Walmart because I needed to pick up some color pencils for my vet anatomy coloring book, fun. I ended up buying a box of Milkbones and a red harness for Pudge (because he always chokes himself whenever I walk him with just his collar on).

Well, there isn’t much else to blog about so I’m going to continue reading New Moon. I don’t have the motivation to quickly go through this book because there is no Edward at the moment, but I’ll continue until I reach him again. Haha! See you later.

October 12, 2008

I’ve officially become a victim of the leather trend this month. Although all three of us were arguing the entire time about boots, shopping at Montebello with my sister and my mom today was actually fun. Franco has been looking for a good flannel for a while now and I finally found a good one for him at Boarders. It was pretty expensive but he’ll eventually find a way to thank me for it, or i’ll just force it out of him. Haha!

Unfortunately, my cousins are having a bit of a personal crisis so it’s nothing for me to blog about. I just want to let them know that I’ll always try to help them out as much as I can to make their life a little easier and run a little smoother. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for them because they’ve always treated me as if I were their child (as odd as that sounds, it’s completely and utterly true). I already know everything is going to be fine and we’ll all eventually get use to the change. Just remember I’m always on call for you guys, my priority line. Love you.

Well, I thought I’d share with you some stuff that I bought today because I obviously have no other interesting pictures to post. Just try to enjoy it, okay?!

it’s cold again
October 12, 2008

Good Morning everyone! I don’t know about you but I just love waking up early on Sundays to cold chilly weather and a beautiful sunshine. It has a knack for perking me up. Breakfast is probably waiting for me downstairs so I think I’ll go take advantage of that real soon. My mom has decided that I have to take her shopping today but I’m definitely not complaining about spending a few extra bucks on myself. I’m in search of a warm, cozy coat for the winter so wish me luck!

Work was a surprise today. Instead of the Dr. E I expected to see, Dr. A pulls into the clinic parking lot in his black pick-up truck. It wasn’t surprising though when Dr. A held me up to help him in surgery about an hour after I was suppose to clock out for lunch. No problem though, I’m not complaining about getting paid overtime at all. Hehe. Today Dr. E called to ask if it will be possible for me to work on Friday and I was a little hesitant on giving him a direct answer because my Aunt is already expecting me to work at Silverlink that day. What a dilemma.

So yesterday I bought a Halloween costume at for Priscilla’s Birthday/Costume party. I’ve decided to go to as a S.W.A.T. girl. It’s a pretty conservative outfit compared to all the others I’ve looked at, plus I’m pretty self conscious about showing my body. I just need to find some cheap, tall leather boots with heels and a belt. Why do my problems always involve parting with my hard-earned money?

Hey guys! I’m starting to get the hang of using WordPress with all it’s nifty features that Blogspot never had. On top of that I’m feeling more confident about blogging every single day again (possibly even more, but don’t count on it too much), it probably sounds pretty creepy how much I’m into this but I won’t take it offensively if you think so. Haha! Today I woke up early and actually cleaned the hallway in front of my room because there were dozens of cups and bottled water compiled there for about a month already. My sister was starting to get the spending urge again so we ended up shopping at Brea Mall for about two hours. Hmm, I wonder if shopping endorphins exist because if they do, I probably get it every time I pull out my wallet :] For lunch, we went close to home for Little Tokyo Shabu Shabu, everyone who knows us knows that the restaurant is mine and my sister’s sacred eating place. If we ever went a week without a taste of ponzu sauce, who knows what would happen?

Home is where the heart is, home is also where we dye our hair and always manage to stain the granite counter with smears of brown or red. Because of me, my sister’s hair is now more of a hot red color today than she had before. Her red head is so intense that it causes her schoolmates to rename her from Pauline to “Little Mermaid.” Cute.

I’m getting an early sleep today because I’m the only assistant Dr. has scheduled to work in the morning and that means I need the strength to cover receptionist and assisting him. Thank goodness Lily didn’t schedule any surgeries for Monday’s and Tuesday this coming month or I’d be one big wreck. On the plus side, I get to wear my new dog print scrubs! See you tomorrow.
